About the studio

We are Lamon,
a studio focused on the design and production of interior ceramic tiles and home accessories.
My name is Barbora, and I am its founder. My philosophy is rooted in creating high-quality, uniquely crafted objects, strong in character, spirit, and form. I believe that both homes and public spaces can become places for imagination and the creation of compelling textures and structures, so that monotony does not drain the joy from the way we perceive the world around us. I create both practical and non-practical pieces, always with the intention of bringing a little more emotion into our environment.
All you find here is designed and handcrafted by me down to the very last detail in my studio in Prague,
which I warmly invite
you to visit.

About me
my vision is to create interiors and objects that become a unique reflection of a world of imagination, and also of you yourselves.
Whether we are talking about a tiled wall, a vase in an interior, or a brooch on your jacket.
How the studio was founded
I founded my studio thanks to a suggestion from a close friend, with whom I visited a ceramic workshop focused on tile production during my studies in Brazil. He mentioned that I could make tiles as well. At first, this idea seemed unrealistic to me, because even then, thanks to my knowledge of tile production gained during my studies in Portugal, I was well aware of how technologically complex the entire process is.
After graduating with a degree in Ceramic Design, I began to consider this idea more seriously upon returning to the Czech Republic. However, I started working at the Brazilian Embassy in Prague, where it was only after a few years that I finally decided to give it a try. I saved some money to get started, resigned from my job, and gradually began working on establishing the brand Lamon.
Step by step, I developed my own visual language, but most importantly, I worked on the recipe for the tile material itself. The path to final certification was long. I spent months testing different types of stone, temperatures, and other variables in order to achieve the right composition that would allow me to produce custom tiles myself. And it worked. Despite the significant time and financial demands, when my life revolved mainly around endless searching, testing, and refinement, my dream became a reality.
Today, I can offer handmade tiles that meet all required standards, yet have nothing in common with industrial production. They are tailor-made for you — from the initial design and shape all the way to the final glaze finish.
In addition to tiles, I also create home accessories: distinctive vases, sculptural objects, and smaller pieces such as candle holders or wall artworks. The newest addition to my portfolio is wedding décor — from vases made of bridal flowers to porcelain corsages. And yes, I also offer workshops for the public.
My name is Barbora.
And I am the proud founder of the Lamon brand.

Why Lamon?
“…a person who would sacrifice even his own honor for worldly mammon.”
In the Šumava Paradise.
Karel Klostermann
Mammon. Materiality that awakens desire and joy within a person. We do not need it, yet we long for it…
Lamon, my latest mammon.
